Natural landscape
There are two main bodies of water near Kingston. The first being the St. Lawrence river and the second being Lake Ontario. Kingston's landform is called the great lakes and the St. Lawrence lowlands. Having a river nearby means that it is easy for exsporting and importing goods.
The city of Kingston has not yet had a major urban sprawl like Toronto. There is still a lot of historic sights there and is very multi-cultural. Some people may like the fact that it is not very urban and is not city like at all. Kingston also has Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence river passing by which is a great view for tourists and young families looking for a new home. Some difficulties could be that since there are large bodies of water nearby there could be flooding, ice storms and excessive snow fall.

This picture shows the evergreen trees and the water that is a big part in the plains. The plains don't have soft soil so the soil is great for forestry. Kingston has the St Lawrence river flowing in from the east which is shown by the lake in this photo.
One major thing that has helped the city of Kingston grow is the St. Lawrence river. Kingston is in the prime location because of the river passing by it. This river connects Kingston to the east coast of Canada and internationally. The St. Lawrence river is connected to the Atlantic ocean. The river has made the city grow by connecting it to international cities.

This is Kingston's climate graph from 1981 to 2010. The average temperature in Kingston can range from -7 degrees in January to 21.5 degrees in July and back down to -2.6 degrees in December. Kingston growing season goes from April to late October early November. Kingston has a continental climate. The city is nearby Lake Ontario. The lake moderates the climate in the winter so Kingston doesn't get too cold. Kingston has more rain fall then other cities due to its closeness to bodies of water which could mean that they are more likely to have floods. Kingston's climate should not drastically change in the next few years because the city is surrounded by bodies of water. Large amounts of water moderate the cities temperatures.
